Public Availability of Identities of Inert Ingredients in
Pesticides
AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
ACTION: Advance notice of proposed rulemaking.

SUMMARY: In response to two petitions seeking disclosure of selected
inert ingredients on pesticide labels, based on hazard, EPA is
initiating rulemaking to increase public availability of the identities
of the inert ingredients in pesticide products. This action would
assist consumers and users of pesticides in making informed decisions
and reduce the presence of potentially hazardous ingredients in
pesticides.
DATES: Comments must be received on or before February 22, 2010.

SUMMARY: Notice is hereby given for a 30-day public review and comment
period on the draft report of the National Lakes Assessment (NLA). The
National Lakes Assessment draft report describes the results of the
nationwide probabilistic lake survey that was conducted in the summer
of 2007. EPA and its state/tribal partners looked at the biological,
trophic, recreational and habitat conditions in lakes of the
conterminous United States. The NLA report includes information on how
the survey was implemented, what the findings were on a national and
ecoregional scale, implications for resource managers, and future actions and challenges.
